Located in the very west of Honduras, Copan is home to the highest and most mountainous areas of the country. The high altitude and rich fertile soil give the coffee beans its density and intensity.
In Copan, Coffee has been the main driver of economical development and remains a critical export good from the region. Over the years, farmers have joined forces, merged and created cooperatives to achieve a more structured and consistent way of farming the coffee crops. Copan is now home to majority of coffee coops in Honduras.
This is a deliciously sweet and flavoursome bean that is fully washed and processed with the atmosphere and surrounding weather conditions doing its job. Although rainfall can occasionally be problematic and often mechanical drying methods are used to remove access moisture from the beans.
The result is a cup that is notably sweet, with definite cocoa flavours shining through.
A must try for those who favour a sweet and pleasing cup.
Excellent as a drip or filter brew.
